Description
BAC Water (3 mL & 10 mL)
At DISSOLV LABS, we include BAC Water with many of our peptide products because we know it's one of the first things researchers need. If your peptide comes in a 3 mL vial, we'll typically include a complimentary 3 mL BAC Water vial. If your peptide comes in a 10 mL vial, we'll usually include a complimentary 10 mL BAC Water vial, so you can get started without having to order it separately.
BAC Water (Bacteriostatic Water) is simply sterile water that contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol to help reduce bacterial growth after opening. It's one of the most commonly used supplies for reconstituting freeze-dried peptides in laboratory research.
Why Researchers Use BAC Water
Most peptides arrive as a dry powder inside a sealed vial. Before they can be studied, researchers add BAC Water to turn the powder into a liquid solution. Think of it like adding water to a drink mix—it dissolves the powder so it's ready for the next step in the research process.
Available Sizes
- 3 mL – Ideal for smaller peptide vials.
- 10 mL – Great for larger peptide vials and larger research projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does DISSOLV include BAC Water?
Because almost every researcher needs it. Rather than making you place another order, we include a complimentary vial with many peptide purchases whenever the vial sizes match.
What is BAC Water?
BAC Water is sterile water with a small amount of benzyl alcohol (0.9%). Researchers commonly use it to reconstitute freeze-dried peptides before laboratory studies.
What's the difference between the 3 mL and 10 mL versions?
They're exactly the same product. The only difference is the amount of water inside the vial.
Does every peptide come with BAC Water?
Many do, especially when the vial sizes match. Check the product page to see what's included with your order.
Research Use Only
For laboratory research use only. Not intended for human or veterinary use.
Bacteriostatic (BAC) water is included free with every order.
Specifications
- Form: Lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder, sealed vial
- Appearance: White to off-white
- Purity: ≥99%, verified by HPLC
- Identity: Confirmed by mass spectrometry
- Testing: Independent third-party laboratory, every batch
- Documentation: Batch-specific COA available on request
Exact quantity and concentration are listed in the product title and variant options above. The figures above are release specifications — the measured result for your particular lot is stated on its Certificate of Analysis.
Documentation & Testing
Every batch is tested before release. Testing covers four checks: identity by mass spectrometry, purity by HPLC against a ≥99% release threshold, content verification against the labelled mass, and batch release tied to a specific lot number.
To request the Certificate of Analysis for your vial, email us with your order number or the lot number printed on the label. We do not gate documentation behind a form or a purchase.
New to reading a COA? Our plain-English guide decodes every line, and the full process is documented on our Quality & Testing page.
Handling & Storage
Lyophilized peptides are relatively stable during transit. Arriving at room temperature is not cause for concern — the cold pack is a margin of safety rather than a pass/fail condition.
Sealed vials of lyophilized material are typically stored refrigerated or frozen and protected from light. Handling protocols for a specific compound are determined by the researcher and their institution; we supply the material and its documentation.
Shipping & Returns
Orders placed before the daily cut-off are dispatched the same business day from Southern California in insulated packaging with ice packs. Tracking is issued at dispatch.
If a shipment arrives damaged, if vial contents appear inconsistent with the specification, or if the lot number on your vial does not match the certificate we provide, contact us and we will resolve it.
Because these are temperature-sensitive laboratory materials, opened vials cannot be returned to stock.
