About Dissolv | Needle-Free Sublingual Peptides & Peptide Delivery Technology
Dissolv
A question we couldn't put down

What if peptides never needed a needle?

Dissolv is a San Diego biotechnology company building the needle-free future of peptide delivery — sublingual peptides and oral peptide films engineered to dissolve, not inject.

The problem

Injections work. But needles ask a lot of people.

Traditional injectable peptides are effective and well understood. Yet for many people, the needle itself is the barrier — not the science. Injections mean inconvenience and discomfort. They demand cold storage and careful handling. They complicate travel. And for a lot of people, they still carry a quiet stigma.

We kept meeting the same people: curious, informed, ready to explore peptides — and stopped at the syringe. That gap between interest and administration is exactly where Dissolv began.

The hard part

Why most peptides can't simply be swallowed.

The obvious answer — an oral peptide you take like a vitamin — runs straight into biology. Swallow most peptides and the digestive system does exactly what it evolved to do: stomach acid and enzymes break them down long before meaningful absorption can occur.

So the real problem was never "make peptides oral." It was: find a route into the body that skips digestion entirely — one that's needle-free, but doesn't sacrifice the molecule on the way in.

The breakthrough

A needle-free path: sublingual and buccal delivery.

After years of formulation work, Dissolv developed a proprietary approach to sublingual peptide technology: a thin, dissolvable film designed to help protect the peptide and carry it across the sublingual and buccal mucosa — the tissue beneath the tongue and inside the cheek — so it enters the body without first passing through the digestive tract.

No needle. No cold pack. No syringe. Just a peptide strip that dissolves. It's a deceptively simple idea built on genuinely hard science — and it's the foundation everything else at Dissolv is built on.

The founders

Two people who refused to accept "that's just how it's done."

Dissolv was founded by Mel and Renee — not because peptide delivery needed another company, but because it needed a better question. They share an almost obsessive drive to rethink how peptides reach the body, and a low tolerance for inherited assumptions.

Mel
Co-Founder

Relentless about the details most people never see — formulation, compliance, the line between a good idea and a real product. Builds things people actually want to use.

Renee
Co-Founder

Driven by the belief that peptides should be simpler, more approachable, and more discreet. Challenges the old way of doing things until a better one appears.

Together they've built Dissolv around a single conviction: peptide administration should be simpler, more discreet, and designed around the person — not the pharmacy.

Dissolv today

Research peptides now. Needle-free delivery next.

Headquartered in Southern California, Dissolv today offers Research Use Only (RUO) peptides for the research community — while investing heavily in the delivery science that will define what comes next.

Our long-term vision extends far beyond today's catalog. What we ship now funds the harder, more ambitious work: bringing needle-free peptide delivery from the lab bench toward the everyday.

The future of peptides

Our mission is deliberately ambitious: sublingual versions of as many peptides as science allows.

Not a single hero product — a whole discipline. We want to translate as much of the peptide world as possible out of the syringe and onto a strip that dissolves under the tongue.

That's an enormous undertaking, because no two peptides behave the same. Each one is its own molecule, with its own stability, size, and chemistry — and each requires its own dedicated formulation work before it can become a reliable sublingual strip. There are no shortcuts. Every peptide is a research program of its own, spanning:

01Formulation science
02Excipient compatibility
03Peptide stability
04Moisture protection
05Bioavailability studies
06Dissolution timing
07Absorption optimization
08Strip manufacturing
09Flavor systems
10Material selection
11Packaging stability
12Manufacturing consistency

Twelve disciplines. One peptide at a time. That's the real work of building the future of peptides — and it's the work we've chosen.

Innovation

From molecule to film, engineered end to end.

Peptide innovation at Dissolv isn't a slogan — it's a process. We treat every strip like a pharmaceutical formulation problem and an advanced delivery-science problem at once, then hold it to a quality-first standard from the first prototype to the finished product.

01

Pharmaceutical formulation

We start where the science is hardest — designing each formulation around the peptide's own chemistry, not a one-size-fits-all template.

02

Advanced delivery science

Sublingual and buccal delivery is a discipline of its own. We engineer for the mucosa: dissolution behavior, contact time, and the path a molecule takes into the body.

03

Precision manufacturing

A strip is only as good as its consistency. We pursue tight, repeatable manufacturing so every film performs like the last.

04

Continuous testing & laboratory validation

Ongoing testing and lab validation aren't a final checkpoint — they run through the whole process, keeping formulation honest at every step.

05

Next-generation peptide technology

Everything we learn compounds. Each formulation feeds the next, building toward a growing library of needle-free peptide technology — and, in time, the patents that protect it.

Why it matters

When you remove the needle, you remove a barrier — and a barrier is a person who never got started.

Discretion

A strip that dissolves under the tongue asks nothing of the room you're in. No ritual, no syringe, no explanation.

Convenience

No mixing, no measuring, no cold pack to manage. Administration becomes a single, simple moment.

Portability

Flat, light, and travel-ready. Peptide strips are built to go wherever the day goes.

Accessibility

By lowering the barriers to peptide research, we make it easier for more people to explore the field.

User experience

We design for the person holding the product, not just the molecule inside it. Simplicity is the feature.

Simpler administration

Fewer steps, fewer supplies, fewer reasons to stop. That's the point.

Our commitment

Held to the standard the science deserves.

Quality

A quality-first mindset from formulation to finished strip — because delivery science only matters if it's reliable.

Transparency

Honest about what our products are, what they're for, and where the science stands today.

Continuous improvement

Every formulation teaches us something. We keep refining, testing, and raising our own bar.

Scientific curiosity

We stay curious about the molecules most people overlook — that's where the next breakthrough hides.

Innovation

We'd rather question an assumption than inherit it. Innovation is the default, not the exception.

Responsible development

We build carefully, within the lines of responsible product development, and we don't overstate what we know.

Every real innovation begins by questioning something everyone else accepts.

We don't believe the future of peptides should look like the past. It shouldn't require a needle. It should dissolve.
