All three copy signals your body already makes — the hormones that tell your brain you're full and help manage blood sugar. None of them is a stimulant. None of them is "burning fat" directly in the way old diet pills claimed.
Semaglutide — one switch
Known by the brand names Ozempic and Wegovy, semaglutide copies GLP-1 only. It's the most studied of the three by a wide margin, with years of published data behind it. If a newer compound is being evaluated, semaglutide is usually the yardstick.
Tirzepatide — two switches
Sold as Mounjaro and Zepbound, tirzepatide copies GLP-1 and GIP. GIP is a second gut hormone involved in blood sugar and fat storage. In head-to-head research, adding GIP has generally produced larger average results than GLP-1 alone.
Retatrutide — three switches
